Maddog McCoy SASS #5672 Posted November 12, 2023 Author Share Posted November 12, 2023 I bought a 4 3/4 barrel and a 5 1/2 44 spl barrel on ebay, trying to make a matched set of guns. I realize a 44-40 would probably work, but want it to say 44spl. I am re-barreling a consecutive pair of Colt SAA's that have 7 1/2 inch barrels and want them to match. Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted November 12, 2023 Share Posted November 12, 2023 I have two Colt 44 Spcl SAA's, one is 5 1/2 and one is 4 3/4. I would prefer if both were 4 3/4 but not enough to pay a gunsmith to remove one barrel and then install another. If we were closer together and you are doing the work, then I'd let you do it.
