Subdeacon Joe
June 21, 1834 Rancho Petaluma was deeded to Mariano Vallejo, a 66,622-acre Mexican land grant in present day Sonoma County. Vallejo was born a Spanish subject, served in the Mexican military and helped shape California’s transition to American statehood. PS: Yesterday's post was erroneous so I removed it. The rancho map, below, exemplifies cartography of the time. For more see ThisWeekinCaliforniaHistory.com
The Shoer 27979
Petaluma is where I grew up, nothing but chicken farms and dairy ranches way back when. Now nothing but houses every where

I seem to recall that there was once a rumor that the police badges actually had a small egg on 'em... never saw one with an egg, though. And remember!
