Yul Lose
We did a family trip to Yellowstone National Park about 3 weeks ago and it was cold, windy and snowy but nothing like what’s going on now. A family we know out here was camping in the park and they barely got out before the floods hit. They said they’d never seen rain that heavy before. Sedalia Dave
Yep NE Washington and Northern Idaho are seeing a lot of heavy rains. Definately not typical for this time of year.

Sedalia Dave
Here is a satellite view of the house before. Based on the measurement tool the house was about 100 feet from the river bank before the flood. Not shown in the video was the loss of what appears to be a garage or shop to the right of the house. According to the news the house floated about 5 miles down river before breaking up.
Sedalia Dave
News is harping about climate change as the cause. However about 25 years ago I saw the aftermath of something very similar happen along US 95 in southern Idaho. A massive rain storm caused a flood that swept down a valley near the highway. I remember seeing entire houses that had been lifted off their foundations sitting awkwardly along what was usually a small creek. Also remember seeing boulders the size of houses in places they hadn't been on previous trips through the area.
