It had just a hair over 3 1/2" barrel without any sights, and I thinned the grips considerably. Kept it loaded by my bed for several years. I figured if I had to shoot someone at night the enormous muzzle flash would blind him and set fire to his clothes, and if I actually hit him it would also cauterize the wound.
