H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619 Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 Anyone have any opinions on the Marlin 1888? The early model that had top, not side, eject. I am considering one, but really don't know much about Marlins in general. Is this a decent rifle, or should it be avoided?

Warden Callaway Posted October 7, 2021 Posted October 7, 2021 I'd love to have one but they are of the black powder era vintage and probability should be shot with black powder loads. Super cool but don't expect to be competitive. Would be very hard to find parts or anyone with experience working on one.
Bailey Creek,5759 Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 A friend and fellow shooter has one in 38-40 . Great gun. I would like to have one. If you decide not to take it let me know .
