Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
I made this as a gift for the firefighters and ambulance team that picked me up, as well as for my grandsons. The basic recipe is from Martha Stewart’s Cookie Perfection, her 95th cookbook (of97). I added the orange zest. There is a similar but different recipe online. I chose the recipe because I can’t spend an hour or so standing to make dozens of cookies. Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie 6TBS unsalted butter, softened 3/4 cup (5 1/4 oz) light brown sugar 1L egg, room temp 1 t vanilla ext. 1cup (5 oz) AP flour 2TBS Dutch process cocoa powder 1/2 baking soda 1/2 t coarse salt 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips zest of one orange Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large bowl mix butter and sugar till combined, add egg, vanilla, and orange zest. In a smaller bowl combine dry ingredients, flour, cocoa pdr, salt, baking soda. Combine the two bowls, add chocolate chips. If you like you can save 1/4 cup of the chips to scatter on top of the batter before baking. transfer batter to a ten inch ovenproof nonstick skillet and smooth top with an offset spatula, bake, rotating the pan after ten minutes. Bake until just set in center and pulling away from sides 20 to 22minutes total. Let cool before slicing and serving. suggestion, serve a warm wedge with vanilla ice cream

Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
I made four of these as gifts. I asked my daughter about the one I gave to my grandsons. She said “it didn’t stand a chance.”
