JohnWesleyHardin
Has anyone used Federal Gold Medal Grand shotgun shells in a double barrel? I have always used AA low noise low recoil but can't find them anywhere. The AA were 900+ pfs. The gold medals are 1100 fps.
Tyrel Cody
I have, they're ok; definitely more recoil than AA or Remington STS light. I'd rather run Remington STS light target or even better Federal Lead Top Gun Metro, they're 900FPS if you can find them. The Grands and the Metros are both ribbed and shuck fine. Sedalia Dave
I have been shooting the Federal Top Gun 7/8 oz 12 gauge loads. Not as light as the metros but lighter than most target loads. FYI the issue with ribbed hulls not coming out of a SXS is because the empty hull weighs about 1/2 as much as AA or STS hulls. Those with less aggressive shucking techniques may experience issues with the lighter hulls.
