Subdeacon Joe Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Just saw a commercial, as usual didn't pay much attention to it. I guess it was about the importance of voting and coverage of the election by the press, showed a bunch of reporters on some steps and logos for various networks. One line did catch my attention, "This election will determine the fate of our nation. " And I thought, "Geee ... just like every other election in our history. " But the way it was written, implying that there is something unique about this election and trying to make it more dramatic
watab kid Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 funny how that always comes up - as if it never was a concern before , the "news" has proven to be propaganda , they never check facts anymore , they repeat the same tag lines that follow the agenda of the day , i wish there were "reporters" today that wanted to 'report' the days events but alas - i dont listen most of the time , there is little to "learn from it" , intended to sway the thinking of those that will not research and educate themselves , sound bites
Widder, SASS #59054 Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 The news networks sell drama. The more they can dramatize an event, the greater 'they' think we will watch and listen to them. I think most of them are just a bunch of losers and have absolutely nothing to offer society. ..........Widder
Badlands Bob #61228 Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 I still think the most important election so far in my lifetime has been beating Hillary in 2016. Nothing else has compared to the dangers that woman brought.
