JP Remington
Most of you would have seen or heard about the bushfires in Australia, things are not getting better on the weather front and the firefighting effort is getting stretched. Just saw today that there are US firefighters coming over to help along with the Canadians and Kiwis already on the fireground. I was a firefighter and I know the feeling of relief when fresh legs turn up. Thankyou to all the fireys and their extended families for your support and thankyou to the US, Canada and New Zealand for helping out when needed. Subdeacon Joe
Australian fire crews, especially air assets, are regulars here in California. In Oct. of 2017 they were among the first to arrive and last to leave. That was the Tubbs Fire here in Sonoma County, California.
Calamity Kris
One of the unwritten oaths we take as fire personnel is to help when the call come in, no matter where it's from. Most of the firefighters I worked with would go out of their way to help when needed. It's part of what we are trained to do. I was very proud to be a firefighter and would do it again if I could.
