Painted Mohawk SASS 77785
You know how it is..Generally after loading you will have some rounds that have a fault so there put to one side..I usually take them with me for a monthly comp & will fire them off at the end of the day. Well in this case it was my wife's .38's ...I had about 6 that needed to be gone so in the pistol they went, well 5 anyway as one wouldn't chamber so I grabbed her '73 & with a bit more effort it chambered but wouldn't extract after firing..long story short I had my first case separation. At home the next day I tried all manner of extraction but nothing worked untill filling the chamber with molten lead..worked a treat as the pic shows. I know this is commonly known just thought I'd share my experience. P.S....Wife wasn't to happy initially but all good now
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
Cerrosafe alloy is easier to pop out of the chamber, much easier to melt, but a lot harder to find than lead. (Hint - Brownells) Both work the same way. Glad you had success! Good luck, GJ
