Abilene Al, SASS #72248
Can anyone provide me with a little info on the Pioneer roller coil main spring for the Winchester 73 / Clones. Do they work, are they worth the money for what improvement they make to the rifle. Abilene
Tyrel Cody
I had one in a rifle about 4 years ago for about a year. I don't think they're as good as a properly tuned main spring.
El diablo gringo
AA, couple of years ago the tuned mainspring on my 66 wouldn’t reliably set off federal primers. After much wasted time tweaking the mainspring I installed the pioneer. For the past 3 or so years there has been zero light primer hits. Does it feel any different, no. The reliability fact was what I was searching for. YMMV Gringo
Cowboy Junky
IMHO you are replacing a perfectly working system with another.
Cypress Sam, SASS #10915
It’s an elegant solution to a non existent problem. I have two of them and they work very well; but so does a tuned flat spring.
