John Henry Quick
Does any of our CAS-supporting smiths ream .22 chambers on Bearcat cylinders? I see by Googling that Bearcat chambers being tight is apparently a common issue, but I thought that if I ship it off to be reamed, I would use a smith that's friendly to our sport. Thunder Creek Kid
I had a S&W with too tight chambers one time. I called Smith and asked them about it. They told me to send it to them and they took care of it. I'd call Ruger and do the same. They are a great company.

I didn't consider them because I'm not the original owner. Still, it sounds like a good idea.... 3 minutes ago, The Original Lumpy Gritz said: How does the gun shoot? Any issue otherwise? OLG They go in snug and come out only with real effort. Otherwise, it shoots great. I bought it to train my grandson and granddaughter and I don't want them to have to fight with it while learning. The Original Lumpy Gritz
Try this-Use a 25 cal 'mop' with some metal polishing compound(Flitz)in a drill motor. Work the mop in each chamber for about 1 minute. Also-have you tried different ammo? OLG
Colorado Coffinmaker
Before you are anyone else piddles with this gun, CALL RUGER. Ruger may well fix it for free and include free shipping.

OLG No, I've got Mini-Mags filling an entire shelf in my safe and they work great in all of my other guns, so I thought I would fix the Bearcat instead of stocking up on other ammo. That sounds like a reasonable solution if Ruger won't take care of it - I have the tools and I have the patience.
The Original Lumpy Gritz
All I run are 40gn solid, mini-mags. It ain't the ammo then. I have done the mop deal on several 22 revolvers with the issue you are having. My S&W K-22 was really bad with extraction etc when dirty. No longer after the chamber polish. Chili Ron
Howdy, Just give it a good cleaning first. No gain in sending it in if there is just a few bits of crud in the cylinder. Is this a shopkeeper? mine was tight and cleaning including toothpaste on a brush and all is well. I DID NOT use any power drills or try resizing of any kind. Mini mag has worked in most everything, its remotely possible you have a 'fat' batch. If the cleaning doesn't help sure call Ruger. I would not involve anyone else unless Ruger wont help. They might want you to send fired cases that fit tight, along with the Bearcat or not.
