Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Back in 1977, FF Coppola edited parts one and two of the Godfather movies together in chronological sequence for a television miniseries. Included were many scenes left out of the theatrical releases. I remember watching it then and hadn't seen it since. HBO has just released it and it's as good or better than I remember. Much closer to the book and rich with layers we didn't see in the originals. If you have access to HBO on cable (or like us, online), it's worth a look. 7 hours worth, which gives you an idea of what was left on the editing room floor.

Tell Sackett SASS 18436 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Shoot, I have that on videotape. Somewhere.
BONEYARD BILL, SASS #39,030 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I love it - the scenes in Sicily are neat - as is the "diner" scene when Pacino is looking for the pistol behind the toilet tank. I can't remember exactly what happened to Frodo - I recall that a small boat exploded - but - surely there is more to it than that - if someone would jump in on that - I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Boneyard Bill
