Trigger Mike Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 a friend bought the new Jeep Renegade and had the dealer install a towing package. Instead of using Jeep parts and replacing the bomber with the one with a hole in it for the hitch the dealer installed an aftermarket under the number so it sits low. They are concerned their trailer will not sit right. I suggested they get a ball mount that has the ball higher than the part that goes into the towing package. Am I right? are all towing holes the same diameter square or is there anything I am missing? I apologize for my ignorance .

The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 i do not know, i better ask the dealer what they installed as my friend does not know It will be marked on the hitch. With the trailer loaded up along with the tow 'pig' fully loaded. You want the trailer to be level, to no more than 1 inch low at the hitch. Is this a load-equalizer hitch? I suggest your friend had better learn more about towing. OLG
Cat Brules Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 And, maybe take the jeep back and have them remove their parts, replace with his old parts and refund his $. Then, he can go to a trailer house, learn what he needs and have th sell and install one specific to his needs.
