Buffalo Bruce, SASS #58153
Anyone know why a cartridge sometimes sticks in the action or what the fix is. This happened to my pard with a 38spl twice and me once with a 44spl. This is 3 times in several thousand rounds. Seems to happen in the middle of stage and requires taking the side plate off. Goody, SASS #26190
If you mean that the cartridge is going under the loading gate, then the tab on the end of the loading ladle has bent/ broken and the loading gate needs to be replaced/repaired. Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
Fired case Stuck in the chamber? Then the extractor didn't hold onto the rim or the case was split or the chamber was really dirty (or ... several more reasons) Carrier Stuck with part of the second round in the magazine holding the carrier down because too much of the second round crowded into the carrier? Then the Overall Length of the cartridge is too short, or the bullet collapsed down into the case because of too light a crimp, or because of a case split that let the bullet collapse (or...) Tell us what the complete failure mode is (what you found, in detail) and we will be a lot more likely to guess what the cause was. A toggle link has many reasons why the "cartridge sometimes sticks in the action". And the fixes are even more numerous. Need more details. Good luck, GJ
Three Gun Cole
Odds are fired round before fully closed action, extractor never fully seated on case before lever was opened Usually can be cleared by lifting extractor from live round in carrier and pushing carrier down , then fully close lever and extract brass from chamber
