This might be interesting to follow, if you can stomach it.

My hands are shaking; my adrenaline is surging.

No, it’s not from the latte I just inhaled or because this is the
first time in two years I’ve been in a Starbucks since declaring a
boycott on its open-carry gun policy.

What’s got me jittery this morning is the 9mm Glock that’s holstered
on my hip. Me, lead gun policy protester at the 2010 Starbuck’s

. Me, a board member of the Brady Campaign. Me, the author of a book about the impact of gun violence, Beyond the Bullet.

Yes, I bought a handgun and will carry it everywhere I go over the
next 30 days. I have four rules: Carry it with me at all times, follow
the laws of my state, only do what is minimally required for permits,
licensing, purchasing and carrying, and finally be prepared to use it
for protecting myself at home or in public.

She doesn't bother to get any training, has to take the gun to a cop to show her how to work the action and find out if it's loaded. Idjit.

Another liberral simpleton trying to do everything wrong to mistakenly intentionally mislead people who don't know and aren't interested in researching the situation on their own!!

I can hardly wait for the second installment! Did she listen to the Voice of the Gun? Did she shoot up a shopping mall or school? Or maybe she shot someone who dared to take her parking space, or cut her off in traffic!

I have 3 or 4 comments on that first one stuck in moderation. Been there for a couple of days now. They don't seem to want commentary that doesn't support the mantra that gunz-r-bad. Nor do they seem to want people making assumptions about the author the way the author and her supporters make assumptions about gun owners.

I just went to see if any of my comments made it past the mods.

Nope. But the did finally delete two of them, two more are stuck in moderation. There were 4 new comments, the last of which was someone lamenting that she had just heard that the author would be unable to continue the series because of the "hatemongers in the gun community."

Left two more comments about that:

LOL….what “hate mongers within the gun community.” McAllister
Bryant? Oh, I don’t doubt that with over 80,000,000 gun owners there
won’t be a few, but look at how you and others stereotype gun owners –
rambos, killers, guys “compensating,” bubbas, rednecks, crackers, and a
raft of other pejoratives. And the lies your side regularly publishes
about how firearms are typically used – they read like scripts for cheap
    cop-dramas.

If the author won’t continue, my guess is that she realized that none
of the horror stories about gun owners that she fantasizes about
happened. She didn’t shoot anyone. She didn’t give in to her inner
rage and pop anyone for cutting her off in traffic or taking her parking
space. Or that she was unable to accept the idea that she had a moral
duty to be a responsible citizen and actually learn something about
firearms and safety. And I know that doing the moral and responsible
thing is anathema to people like the author.

By the way, McAllister Bryant, gun owners are harsher on
irresponsible gun owners than you realize. I’ve thrown people off the
range for being stupid. I’ve seen gun smiths and gun shop workers grab a
gun out of someones hand, eject the magazine, check the chamber, field
strip it, throw the magazine in the trash, and toss the other parts
back to them for being stupid. And throw them out of the store.

I’ve also seen them exhibiting the patience of Job teaching people
who come to the range as clueless as the author but eager to learn,
spending hours freely given to get a new gun owner safe, comfortable,
and competent with their firearm. If the author had exhibited the
least shred of wanting to learn and being a responsible owner, rather
than just making a political point, she would have been overwhelmed by
    people trying to help her.

Do yourself a favor, look up “Ladies of Lead.” Unless, of course,
you are like the author and afraid of educating yourself about firearms.

They did not like mine either, It was deleted. Somehting like this: Bravo. Keep on going and welcome to a little taste of liberty. I urged the author to continue and accept FULL responsability for her actions whatever the outcome. After all, she is an adult of sound mind and body, right? I also asked what she was doing to prepare "to use it for protecting myself at home or in public"? Doing nothing would mean being unprepared.

Just checked it again - a few more emotional lies posted. As well as a comment that the next parts will appear on Huffington Post.

I do have to respect HuffPo, as much as I dislike their politics. One of the few leftist sites that will give centrists and conservatives posting equality with the leftists. I don't think I've ever had a post rejected or deleted there.

My response was deleted as well. The post about motorcycles, RVs, and boats causing less loss of life was amusing in a sad sort of way.

I never liked or trusted Ms. Mag. My sister reads it and for me that's enough.

Anybody checked Stuffington Post for follow up??
