Bottom Dealin Mike, SASS #22273 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 In this video I'll be shooting a replica of Remington's model 1866 revolving rifle. The replica is a carbine made by Uberti and imported by Taylor's & Company. The Remington revolving carbine is a .44 caliber, cap and ball weapon based on Remington' New Model Army pistol, often erroneously called the 1858 Remington.
Slowhand Bob, 24229 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Looks like you were having way to much fun Mike. The 'perfect' next gun would be the lesser known Colt version. I am not sure but Dixie was carrying these at one time but the price was staggering. But I am sure they would let you have one filming and promo.
Come On Christmas Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Duh, never thought about using a heavier rifle load. It sure is tempting to place your hand in front of the cylinder like the carbine has a forearm. Gotta hook your finger of your left hand on the hook under the trigger guard. Lest you be known as lefty or three fingers. Kinda like putting a string bow on the fingers you want to keep. Thanks for the video. Shameless ;~€
Hardin Morningwood Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Always great MB. You still have your vids of shot shell reloading BP up? Didn't see them in your collection any more.
Bottom Dealin Mike, SASS #22273 Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 Yup, the shotshell vids are still there, but they were some of my first videos, so they are a ways down the list.
Buckhorn Bud Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I often wish my revolving carbine was SASS leagle. Would be fun to shoot it during a match. I have considered writing a stage where each person shoots a revolving carbine. It could work at a monthly but I know people would object to the blowback in their face.
Hardin Morningwood Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I will look again MB. I am subscribed so I look forward to seeing all your new vids.
Come On Christmas Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Shoot 5 with the carbine and 5 with your lever gun.
Chili Ron Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Howdy, I have a revolver with a detachable shoulder stock and I would think using it and putting it down and picking up a lever rifle for the last five shots would give NO advantage.... but could be FUN. And YES you can put your hand forward, just wear a leather coat or some sort of wrist cuff. Best CR
Come On Christmas Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 You must have never experienced a chain fire izquierdista? Or would you prefer Tres Dedos? Thinking it is okay to put to your hand forward is why these weapons will be okay at a club match at your own risk and never SASS legal. Which is as it should be. Frontiersman speed? Others may care. I don't. Love ya man. Trying to protect you. Shameless Womanizer
