Chili Ron
Howdy, This has nothing to do with cowboy action, it has to do with troops overseas. NOW. I have had one nephew in combat and sent him a package of snacks, a newspaper, some dunkin donuts ground coffee and other goodies. He didnt get the package, it was delivered to someone else in his unit. He did eventually get SOME of the goodies but after some one else took things. My niece has reported that a package she sent to her husband(a different nephew) didnt get to him. And a package I sent hasnt shown up either. What do these have in common?? We each oked the option that if the package cant be delivered to the soldier specified it can be delivered to someone else. I think this is a big mistake. Any packages I send in the future will be to the soldier with the option to RETURN IT TO ME, if undeliverable. Im just wondering if anyone else has had this sort of redirection of packages meant for troops overseas. Just to be clear, these men were in country right where the army put them. They had not rotated home or anything like that. The contents of the package Ive sent is around $70 and I pay the post office about $18 more to deliver it. So this can be a pretty good scam for redirection of packages. If you want, email me or just post your experience here. Best CR
PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L
FWIW - For the past 10 or so years I've sent & received dozens of packages to/from troops stationed in Iraq & Afghanistan. All have been received in good order by the designated addressee.
Nasty Newt # 7365
Ny nephew has been home for a couple of years, but we sent him numerous packages, in both Iraq and Afghanistan, without incident. I hope things haven't changed for the worse. I admit to having CRS disease, but I don't recall being offered that delivery option at the post office. I hope you're able to get your packages to your guys next time.

Chili Ron
Howdy, Yes, Ive had packages get thru as well, this seems to be a new thing. It might have to do with just a few areas. I have it straight from my one nephew that he did NOT get his package until someone else had opened it and took out things that I know went into it. There are options for packages that arent deliverable, I will be looking into that before I wrap up the next one. Thanks for reading, pards. Best CR I believe you can designate the Chaplain as an option for when a package is not deliverable
