August West, SASS #45079
Depends on where the sun is relative to the pistols. When up-range is South, and down-range is North (the optimum orientation for a range), the serrated sights seem to give a better picture than the non-serrated ones do. Any other range orientation seems to favor the non-serrated sights.

Adirondack Jack, SASS #53440
As much as most of us just make sure the front sight is somewhere in the "window" when we trip the loud switch, not a lot.....

SlicLee SASS #16638 Life
The purpose of serrations or inserting a gold bar or two into the front sight is for distance shooting.

About 7 to 10 yards distant by my estimation . Any time you do something to help pick up the front sight, it has to help target acquisition.
