Texas Phil Peeno #50923 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Texas Christian got his trumpet today. Now I know where the term "Put a sock in it" came from. Question. Looking at trumpet cleaning videos it looks like I can use my "clean" nylon bore brushes, mops and maybe even a bore snake. It should work, right?
Badlands Bob #61228 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I played the Trumpet during my school years and my parents survived. I'm not sure how but they did. My kids played the saxaphone and the drums. I had to get a bigger house with a basement. Good luck. Badlands Bob
Four-Eyed Buck,SASS #14795 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Hope he does well with it, Phil. I've been playing trumpet off and on since 5th grade

Tom Foolery U.S.M. #2348 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Played the trumpet from elementary through high school. If ya don't clean it, it can REEK. The stuff that can collect in there is worse than BP fouling. TF
Utah Bob #35998 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Probably why my folks talked me into the Calrinet.
