14 seconds. Those two would drive me bonkers.

I carry in my right jacket pocket. No bones under the gun to be crunched if I go rag doll. I may mount a universal type holster somewhere on the bike for carry. I like that idea.

Yep! This one (with full end cap push button) would be the one for bike carry. https://batonwarehouse.com/collections/asp-talon-batons/products/asp-t60-26-talon-disc-loc-baton

I forgot to mention that one of the things I carry on my motorcycle handle bars is a small can of pepper spray. I have done this for many years, even when I lived in CA and “civilian” carry of pepper spray was illegal. I buy the type that comes with a jogger holster so I can just strap it to the handlebar somewhere accessible with riding gloves. It has come in handy a few times. Twice on dogs - plural, and several times with self-entitled motorists. A baton would be pepper spray back up for warm blooded creatures and primary for various auto parts on autos driven by stupid warm blooded creatures. Ever try to pull a gun and fire it with motorcycle gloves on? Regardless of the size of the trigger guard one still needs to get to it, get it out and get situated to fire. I have practiced this a few times in remote areas on my motorcycle with various types and styles of gloves. Crude implements in easy reach are a best bet if one is in a hurry.

Thank you, Flanagan Flats.

Who makes the one you have?

One of the funniest things I ever saw while riding my motorcycle was back in ‘83 I was behind this guy on a Harley riding down a boulevard in the South Bay in SoCal during morning rush hour and this dipstick in a Honda Civic was giving the biker crap about splitting lanes at the stop lights. The light turned green and we all drove to the next light but as we did the guy in the Civic kept swerving over as if to hit the guy on the bike. We stopped at the red light and the Civic guy kept running his mouth. The biker unclamps his baton from his handlebars, flicks it and it expands to a couple feet long and then he smashes the brass ball on the end of his baton into the Civic’s windshield turning it into a sheet of diamonds. The biker collapsed his baton by pushing the brass ball against his leg and he collapsed it. He then clipped back into the handlebar clamps The light turned green as if on queue and everyone rolled away except the Civic guy. At another red light I rode up next to the biker and asked about his baton. He showed how it was clamped and told me where I could buy one. I never did get one. All the batons I have seen since are pretty hard to compress once deployed. If I ever find one that I can easily collapse I will buy it and mount it on my bike.

Felony in CA. Not WV. I was going to buy one of these to carry on my bike but collapsing it ain’t all that easy. https://www.coldsteel.com/26-expandable-steel-baton/

Glock Plastic Magazines

@Creeker, SASS #43022 I know what you mean about .45s. I made a mistake the other day and shot a friend of mine’s Sig P220 Elite in .45 ACP. Been wearing my wrist brace ever since. I know I shouldn’t have done it but the gun is just too pretty not to try it out. I thought I might like to buy it. Not any more. Like you I decided a while back to treat myself something I’ve wanted for a long time. I got rid of some guns and bought myself a Sig Sauer P229 M11A1 and I have an Sig Sauer P226 Mk25 coming soon. Both are 9mm. I have wanted those guns for nearly 30 years. In a couple of days I will have both. That M11A1 shoots like a dream. Recoil isn’t bad at all even with spicy 124 grain loads. -
Holy Cow, Blackwater. You and I have the makin’s of a small hardware store.

I had kinda hoped that we could meet up and ride some this summer, but I’m still looking at at least five more weeks in a cast on the foot and I’m not supposed to put ANY weight on it until then. That means that I can’t even get out in the shop and get the old thing apart and ready for paint before the end of May or first of June! Well, don’t push it. It ain’t worth it. We’ll meet up and ride one day. I have an appointment tomorrow about my hip and one on Tuesday about my wrist. The good news is my spine Doc told me I am okay to go on without surgery, so I have that going for me. Sometimes this is me in the morning, minus the booze and smokes. Mine didn’t happen in one game though. haha

Impressive!

In addition to KR’s recommendation check the dimensions of your cylinder throats as well.

Glock Plastic Magazines
Pat Riot replied to Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933's topic in SASS Wire Saloon
Glock mags today have a fully enclosed stainless steel tube internally. If anyone is interested I can get some photos later. The base plates are polymer and they have a polymer exterior but they are steel inside. @Creeker, SASS #43022 that is one cool looking speed shooter. I like it. Please give us a range report once you get it and have some time. -
Many “mechanics”, like “gunsmiths”, today are mere parts swappers. I’m sorry to hear about your health. I am facing some issues with my left hip. Swinging my leg over that high seat on my bike is downright painful at times.

When I first started out in SASS I got terrible leading from my reloads and manufactured “Cowboy” ammo that I purchased off of local vendors. I switched to Bear Creek Supply moly coated bullets and I spiced up my loads to original .38 Special specs. 158 grain bullet at around 850 fps. Zero leading after that. The same goes for my .45 Colt loads. BCS bullets and standard velocities and all I clean is powder residue. No leading.

That may be, but all I know is everyone I know or knew that’s bought a new Harley always had some warranty issue that needed to be repaired at the dealership. Maybe CR wasn’t far off.

I agree, though I did like the Victory Gunner. It was a really cool bike. Just as I was discussing the purchase of one with a dealer in Salem Oregon it was announced that Victory was done and going out of business. I am darn glad I waffled otherwise I would have owned a bike with very little support. This is the one I wanted. Image from: https://www.totalmotorcycle.com/motorcycles/2014models/2015-Victory-Gunner

I have heard/ read numerous histories of weddings and Howe they were conducted. http://classicspeeches.com/origins-of-the-best-man This one follows what Alpo was saying https://www.countryliving.com/life/news/a40344/origin-of-best-man-weddings/ I found a bunch more, but they all mirror the above.

I think that’s Potash or Pot Ash.

Going from a Harley (Cruiser) riding position to an upright ridding position isn’t bad at all for me. I do miss my old Kawasaki Vulcan 900. If something ever happens to my current bike I may get another. I do like the Triumphs, though. You have a good looking machine there. You need to report back after you’ve put some kilometers on it.

Some interesting reading on motorcycle reliability and customer satisfaction from Consumer Reports. THESE ARTICLES ARE 10 YEARS OLD https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2015/05/motorcycle-reliability-and-owner-satisfaction/index.htm https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2015/04/who-makes-the-most-reliable-motorcycle/index.htm

One pair of pistols carried by Geo. Washington. I found this while looking for images of paintings with Washington wearing pistols. I did not find any. Images from: https://pabucketlist.com/exploring-fort-ligonier-in-westmoreland-county-pa/

I love running Mobil 1 grease on my Garand and SFAR. Works like a champ and pretty much stays put.
