When I bought our home in Elk Grove, CA there were 3 ADT signs in the yard when we looked at the house. 
When we moved in there was 1 ADT sign and the two houses across the street each had an ADT sign. They didn’t when we looked at our house. 
Our house had never had an ADT system. I knew this because I had ADT come and give us a quote. We didn’t go for their service because of cost and the 3 people we talked to were obnoxious buttholes. When they were leaving I told them to take their sign with them. 
9 of 10 houses had ADT signs in my neighborhood. 50% did not have ADT.
