Dark Horse Charlie
Howdy, I have a leather belt and holster that always end up with a white powder forming on them. I keep them in a dark cool place and have used Neet Foot oil and spew remover but it keeps coming back. Anyone know the best way prevent this? Thanks Dark Horse
T.K.
Wipe them down with lemon juice/ water solution. When they dry, treat them with your usual leather conditioner. I recommend LEXOL

Oak Ridge Regulator
My bet is your cool dark place is a bit damp. Keep them in the same closet as your regular clothes and I bet they won’t do that. The lexol mentioned above is good stuff and I also use pure mink oil on my belts and holsters 2
T.K.
I buy the bottled lemon juice and pour about a cup or so in a bowl and add about a 1/2 a shot glass of water. Refill the shot glass with your favorite spirits, consume liberally, then clean and condition your leather gear. 1 1
I. M. Crossdraw, SASS# 8321
It's probably bacteria and/or fungi growth turning into like mildew. Use alcohol to remove mildew (will dry leather) so next is to recondition leather and store in a dry place. If you have climate-controlled environment (AC) will control humidity. As recommended by others, Lexol Leather conditioner is a great product to use. 1
