You're supposed to fill just the inner jar before turning it in at the lab.

You see, you fill the outer container with beer. The inner container floats to the top. You fill that one quickly with whiskey and it sinks. You then pick it up and chug all the beer and whiskey. It’s a high society Boiler Maker pitcher.
