Cyrus Cassidy #45437
OBR rule 8.01(c) allows the umpire to adjudicate anything not covered in the rules (which are 187 pages long!) to the best of their judgement. So if that were me, I would invoke this rule. I would call it a "no pitch" -- ball is dead, and neither a ball nor a strike is awarded to/against the batter. No pitch goes against the pitcher's count. It's essentially a re-do. By the way, this one already went around umpire circles a few dozen times! Ozark Huckleberry
Odds-wise, that has to be right up there with the pitch hitting the bird. Did the kid go pick some lottery numbers?

Had it been intentionally thrown in by a defensive player, I would rule the "no pitch" and eject said player. But that was not the case; it was just a foul from an adjacent field with no ill intent.
