JP Remington Posted March 5, 2021 Share Posted March 5, 2021 The post that @Popcorn Kelly did got me to thinking about another aspect of EOT and that is how many times do people attend. The back story to this is after having shot EOT in 2017 and 2019 I wondered if there was any way to have a look at the all the overall times in each category and compare them to previous years. OK, not an exact science for a whole bunch of reasons but it was interesting. Not going into that here. However, one outcome of converting the score sheets was having a list of shooters for each year. Why not have a look at how many times people have attended? Now, before we saddle up our keyboards, draw our trusty six shot mouse from it's holster and start clicking, there are a few things I'll point out. Data came from the SASS results page so it only goes back to 2015, and if someone changed their Alias then they would appear as 2 different shooters. I picked up some slight differences in they way names were entered and fixed those where I could. This is what those 5 years looks like. The 137 at the bottom are shooters that have shot all 5 years (you could have shot 25 years in a row but I don't have pre 2015 info). The top block in each year are shooters that have only shot one match in those 5 years. If you are like me and shot 2 matches in this period you are in the 2 entry group, so I am one of the 103 in 2017 and 70 in 2019. Same for the 3 and 4 entry groups. Does this mean anything? Well, hang on, it gets better I grabbed the list for 2021 and crunched the numbers.......wait for it..... So 53 shooters will be making it 6 in a row and a whopping 268 will be shooting EOT for the first time since 2015. Here's a % of total for another perspective. Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L Posted March 6, 2021 Share Posted March 6, 2021 Ok I attended the first 6 years of EOT at Founders Ranch, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and then switched to attending Winter Range in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017 and then in 2018 I attended both EOT and Winter Range.
