Thinking about trading my Colt for your Colt/TRADED

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

Thinking about doing some trading.  I've got a really nice Colt SAA in .38 special.  5.5" barrel blued/CC.  Gun is about 95% or better.  I believe it is an early gen 2 gun.  I'll have to double check the ser. #.  Problem is every other cowboy gun I have is either .45 or .38-40.  I don't plan on reloading .38 or buying another gun in this caliber.  So

I'm thinking about a trade.

Gun is ser. 12XXXSA.....looks like it was made in 1958

Blued/CC

Slight line on the cyl.  A bit of freckling on the hammer.

Pics will be up after I get the my grand son to his pre school.

I'm looking for a Colt in .38-40 or .45 with a 4-3/4" barrel.   I'd also be interested in one with a 7.5" barrel if i cannot find one with the shorter barrel.  I'm willing to take one in slightly worse condition ot get the shorter barrel length or trade for a Gen 3.

More trades

I could use a Ruger NMV in .45 Colt...I would prefer blued but can do stainless.  4-3/4" barrel only.

Cimmaron Arms SAA Custer repro.

I might need Japanese Winchester in .45-70 or the M1895 in .30-40 Krag or .30-06 SRC preferred.  Nothing fancy though.

I'm in Michigan.

Sorry about the slow response.  For some reason, I am not getting email notifications from the wire.

I will be checking this a couple times a day now.

Thanks!

Is there a particular value you are placing on your Colt for trade?

Well......that's good question.  As much as I need to get what I want is my best answer.  :P

I did some looking on the wire for past sales and looks like 2nd Gen SAA's go around $1800-$1900.  I think this one is in a bit better condition.  Honestly I was thinking around $1500 or so.  Really what I am looking for is a good one for shooting .38-40 or .45 Colt.

Shoot me a private message if you want to more about it.

You’re right your 2nd gen is worth at least $ 1800-1900. Maybe more depending on condition. Your $1500 must have been a typo, more like $2500?

If someone offered me $2500 for it that would be gone like the antebellum south.

Still got this one.

I've been looking at Colts in .38-40 or .45 Colt.  It's gonna cost me at least $1700 to get what I want and not as nice as this one.  If I sell it, it's gonna have to be close to that price.
