Old Ranger Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Howdy All, Just started reloading so I’m still trying to figure things out, I’m using RCBS carbide dies and was wondering which seater plugs do you all use for truncated bullets?
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708 Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Truncated Cone bullets will seat fine with a perfectly flat seater plug. That you can make from an extra stem - just file or grind off flat. Most seater dies have a "flat nose" bullet stem as an option. If you use a Dillon die set, turn the stem insert around to the flat nosed end. At the worst, call the factory where dies were made and ask for a stem suited to TC bullets. Probably no charge from most of the die companies. Good luck, GJ

John Boy Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Ranger ... Make a perfect seater plug. Fill the cavity with hot glue - twist the bullet nose in the glue - let the glue cool and trim the excess off the edge of the die = Done. I hate buggered bullet noses and do many hot glue seater dies
