Preacherman
Gotta 550 conversion or plate for 44-40/38-40 you'd sell? Really only need the shell plate. Let me know, thanks! Preacherman
Kid Rich
I believe the 45 colt plate will work, at least it does on ours. kR
Preacherman
Thanks! Yes, you are right, but a little less than ideal. Rim thickness and diameter is different. Dillon makes one for the 40's specifically. Got some problems with my 38-40 and i think that this will work better.
grey ghost
I loaded for 20 years that way. Those -40 calibers take a learning curve and sometimes modification of your dies. On the other hand they are wonderful calibers. Might ask on the saloon about your problem, or PM me perhaps. That's how I cure my problems. Hollifer A. Dollar
Preacherman, I have an extra 44-40 shellplate with 3 retainer pins that I got as part of a package deal of brass & stuff. PM me your address & I will send it to you. Holler
Preacherman
Thanks for all the help! PMed Hollifer. Yes, I am familiar with the problems and quirks. Modified dies, bullets refined, crimp with Lee factory crimp, etc. I still need a shell plate. Not to try and fix here as it's not the place. Good shootin' to all!
