Coyote Kincaid
Are there any other options for hammers besides the Bisley hammer for the Single Six? I would like to get a lower hammer and I'm not seeing many options out there. Or maybe I'm not looking in the right spot. I'm also contemplating putting stainless octagon barrels on my NMV's. I had a line on two possible Cowboy gunsmith's but I'm hearing that one is covered in work and the other is busy with a new job. Anybody know of reputable people? Widder, SASS #59054
Howdy Coyote. I'm aware of one Octagon barrel maker/installer gunsmith for our Cowboy guns. His name is Snake Oil George out in Oklahoma. I have had several sets of Ruger Vaq set up by him. And I wouldn't hesitate using him again because his work is 1st rate. Plus, he is available to talk with on the phone and is a real nice feller, as is his grandson, Cross Creek Kid, who helps him. ..........Widder

Chili Ron
Howdy, I have a ruger .22 convertible, I hardly can remember shootin the mag rounds out of it. I hear the true .22 lr barrel is more accurate shootin. I wonder if converted to .22 would go along with the octagon barrel? Any good comparisons on .22 single six vs .22 convertible accuracy? Best CR overthinkin again, I suppose.....
