Rye Miles #13621 Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 SOLD PF 1898 S&W Hammerless Safety. 32 S&W caliber. Original Nickel finish. Decent condition, a little pitting here and there. Collector's item. $300.00 shipped (It's an antique made in 1898 so depending on your state you may not need an FFL) I'll even consider a trade for something, whatcha got?? C&B pistols???? Pics upon request ryemiles@gmail.com
Bad Hand Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 If it's a "curio" it would have to go to an 01 FFL or an 03 (C&R) license holder.

Hillbilly Jim Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 This type pistol was mfg up until 1940. Dates stamped on barrels only establish max age. Chances are very small on the revolver being old enough to be classified as an antique and not subject to FFL requirements on sale or shipping. What ever you do, do NOT send it by the us postal service unless you have a type 01 ffl doing the actual mailing. A C&R ffl may not use the postal service for handguns.
Hillbilly Jim Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 To be a antique the serial number would be somewhere around 80000 or below. Production of these revolvers begin on 2-2-1888. Original nickeled guns had blued trigger guards. This gun was produced up until about 1940. Only a type 01ffl may use the US postal service to ship a handgun.

Bad Hand Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Serial # is 39975 According to my references, the cut off serial number to be an antique is 91400.
