Ninety Caliber Al, 50218
Just got me a set of these and would like to change the grips . Who carries them? Seems I remember reading somewhere that if they are the Army grip frame any SAA grip should fit. I have no idea how to tell the difference(been strictly a Ruger shooter till now). Any help would be appreciated.

Butch McGie, SASS#71758
I have a pair of open tops I bought a year or so apart. They have slightly different sized grip frames, so try them first. Both are brass Navy size.
Charlie Whiskers
The 72 is made in both the Army (later version) and Navy. The Navy has a brass grip frame including trigger guard and the Army is steel including trigger guard. The Army grip frame uses bigger grips than the brass navy ones. So, you have to change out the whole grip frame to use the Army style grips.
Colorado Coffinmaker
The "Army" grip and the SAA or "Navy" grip are different shape and size. They are different shape and size between manufacturers, they are different shape and size when by the same manufacturer. Regardless of where you get them, the grips will have to be "fit" to each individual gun. Can't just buy em and put em on. Coffinmaker
