Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 One of the unsung perhaps; good to see this NYTimes obit recognition: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/30/nyregion/george-vujnovich-96-led-rescue-of-airmen-in-world-war-ii.html?ref=obituaries Quote
Utah Bob #35998 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Their are a lot of guys around today who wouldn't be around today if Vujinovich hadn't rescued their fathers. Rest in Peace, Sir. Quote
Tex Jones, SASS 2263 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Amazing that after some many years there are still stories to be told. Glad that they told this one. Quote
Spooky Joe, SASS #24061 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I worked closely with one of the Yugoslav OSS people, Eli Popovich. If Eli was any example, anyone involved with this mission deserved the admiration and thanks of all of us. Mr Vujinovich was a true hero. Quote
