Wild Walt. 92206
I have a pair of Uberti 1851 open top conversions in 38 special. I have a problem with the cylinders on them over rotating when shooting fast with two hands. I really do want to use them in a match, but can't with this problem. They have been sent away twice to a well known gunsmith, but the problem continues. Is there a gunsmith out there that knows his way around the conversions? I did a search on the forum, and could not find any. Any help would be appreciated.

Goody, SASS #26190
First,do you have a wire trigger/bolt spring? If so remove same and put a regular flat spring in and see what the results are.

Semi Conductor, SASS #51020
Your pistols will not hold up to a two handed, rapid shooting style. You should consider Rugers if you wish to slam the hammer back with your off hand thumb. Having said that, Tom Sargis of Bozeman Trail Arms worked over my cartridge conversions and did an superior job. http://www.bozemantrailarms.com/ Conversions work fine for Duelist or Gunfighter but not so well for two handed shooting. Good luck. Semi Conductor
