  1. And well he should be. Just shows that on some days, even a blind hog will find a truffle.
  2. Sorry Rye. There goes that perfect record.
  3. A little cloudy on Mt. St. Helens. http://www.mountsthelens.com/volcanocam.html
  4. Have a great trip and Merry Christmas.

  6. Great time to try landing one of those Lake Erie Steelhead, Rye. They love the rain and cold.
  7. As we enjoy the season's gifts, perhaps it would be good to reflect on those that came before us and gave us the freedom to enjoy those gifts. http://battleofthebulgememories.be/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=565%3Athe-night-before-christmas-bastogne-1944-&catid=1%3Abattle-of-the-bulge-us-army&Itemid=6〈=en
  8. Fond memories as a lad, of Christmas Eve with the gifts and family. As I grew up and acquired a family of my own, it was Christmas morning. More fond memories. When the girls were smaller, we sometimes celebrated in the middle of the night because little hearts could not wait for it to happen. Mom and I often laugh about that.
  9. They are talking more tonight. May get up to 3", Wowser.
  10. Welsl, I am not real fond of it either, Birdgun.
  11. THAT IS WHAT I WAS THINKING. HE AIN'T GONNA DO IT AGAIN.
  12. Yard is white. Temp is close to freezing. MERRY CHRISTMAS
  13. I suspect that hell is a little hotter today.
  14. And then there is orange juice.
  15. I understand all that, Sedalia, but how do they know who is a seabee and who is a pilot. They don't have ratings on their uniforms. Do they all just get together at the bar and decide what and who is going to do something?
  16. They didn't trust me with C-4. In fact they took me off the right side position on the mortar and put me on the left side. That was after I almost blew up the training instructor and myself on the hand grenade range. As far as sterno went, most of the guys in the Company would drink the stuff if not supervised.
  17. TS everybody gets a bellybutton and an opinion. You just stated yours. Nothing wrong with that. Some may not agree with it, but I believe that reasonable folks will accept it.
  18. We had pretty good eats also, for a line foot outfit. Whenever possible, the Top had hot food delivered for the troops.
  19. A few twigs and a zippo and a grunt could be in bidness. Enough to heat a C ration can. The pork sausage came with it's one fire fuel, the grease.
  20. A friend let me shoot his Model 19 some years ago. What a pistol. Always wanted one since then. Maybe I will get the VIRTUAL model.
  21. Back in the day of the almost brown boot army, he had a different source of heat. It was called a fire. Mostly frowned up on by the higher echelons personnel but they did exist. I saw one in West Germany when the temp dropped to -24 degrees Fahrenheit.
  22. What actually does the Navy do? Just design uniform and insignias?
  23. Thanks for sharing that and showing us again, what Christmas is all about. In these troubled times, we can all take a look back at what makes it wonderful.
