  1. These are Great shooters for long range or hunting, that is a fair price, there is $200.00 in sights on it. I wouldn't sell mine for that.
  2. All soldiers doing the duty for God and country, the SS another story. Thanks for your service.
  3. Thanks, coming from the Marlin Man that's a compliment. Rob
  4. Larsen, On the Marlin trigger, I cut about a 1/8" off the bottom then round it off big time smoothing every thing up, has stopped the trigger bite for me. My 2 cents, try it you'll like it. Rob
  5. Yes saw many Stars of Davids there. My father in Law was 3rd Armor Division, knocked out of 5 tanks, ownly one of his crew not captured by the German. He help wright the book Deathtraps about the Sherman Tanks. He was proud to be 3rd Armor and I was proud of him.
  6. For sure, bodys of 80 year olds and minds of 40 year olds some times it don't comput.
  7. Thank you, say hi to Dick for me. Hope to see you a End of Track this year.
  8. Went to Normandy three weeks ago, went to the American cemetery, seeing all those crosses. It was late in the day and they had the lowering of the flag, can't say it didn't choke me up and bring a tear to my eye, thinking of all the young men that gave there all as we can have pease and freedom. God bless them all and the young men that serve today, Thank you. Rob
  9. Thank You, couldn't find the SASS Handbook. Rob
  10. Turned 80, May 22, what's my new catagory ? I can think of a few but I'm sure they wouldn't be right. Thanks Rob
  11. I like mine, I had to do some work on it to get it to run good but I'm happy now. I think the one Paydirt Pops has for sell would be a good chose, fare price and all the work has been done by a well known shot gun smith. Just saying. Rob
  12. You may want to show the barrel chamber to show if they were funneled or not, if Johnny worked on it I'm sure they were. Just my thoughts. Rob
  13. Golden Gate Western Wear www.KnudsenHats.com 510- 232- 3644 Bill has a add in the Chonicle . He has made me a number of hats, always happy.
  14. I buy them at my local gun store, I think he started making them about a 1 or 2 years ago. I'm sure if you contacted Bear Creek here in Calif. he would help you out. Phone # 209-874-4322
  15. I quit using Winhester a long time ago, they would lockup my 97 some times. I find the Remington game loads 1 oz. #8 the ones with a rabbit or dove on the box, black halls, they alway come out of a Stoeger. A pard at a match was having trouble with his new Stoeger and AA, I gave him some game load, he was a happy man., went out and bougnt a couple cases, he brought me a box the next time I saw him.
  16. Bear Creek makes a 125gr. RNFP hollow base bullet, I like them, they seat better in the case and help seal the chamber. Rob
  17. Where have you been ? you don't use your guns anymore, they will never get old. R'N'R Rob
  18. Wow, I'm surprised to see this post again. Like I said in an earlier post, I put the stock trigger back in and the gun worked fine. I have since sold the gun, too old for heavy recoil, to a pard, he loves it. I still won't deal with Wild West Guns. I too was in business at one time; two things I thought were important for good business: one, return calls and two, make the customer happy. RNR Rob
  19. Thanks Deuce on that note, just pray it isn't your 45-70. Rob
  20. Smokestack, The Trigger Happy wouldn't work in mine, I felt it was unsafe. Contacted Wild West they would do nothing about it. Rob
  21. I can say nothing but good things about Dillon, they stand behind there product. NO BS Warranty that's the truth.
  22. Jimmy, I had a similar problem in my Marlin 1895 with the Wild West trigger happy trigger I posted here. The consensus was it was my fault and not that the trigger was made bad, it too would fire out of battery not touching the trigger block, maybe the hole was drill in the wrong place in the sear and trigger making it short. Yes if you still have the 3 peace firing pin in your gun it wouldn't matter but like a lot of cowboys they have put the one peace firing pins in and yes it could go off out of battery. I put the stock trigger back in, may be floppy, but gun is safe again. Wild West was no help and I had it to long to send it back to who I bought it from. Like the one cowboy said Marlin work good right out of the box. Your lucky you get to send it back. Rough'N'Ready Rob
  23. At the The River City Regulators annual match, they give out cowbells as prizes. They are different sizes and colors, gold, silver and bronze according to placement. They have, I'm sure, computer generated stickers on them, one side name of the club and the logo and on the other side class and placement. They are fun to hang on your gun cart as they ring along as you move from stage to stage. They know you are coming, if you need to get someone's attention as you can get a grip on it and ring the heck out of it.
  24. OK, Thanks for the reply. Rob
  25. Hi Mike, I know your looking for a 73. Thought I would put this out there and see if you maybe interested.
