I have 24 Categories locked in but there are quite a few more I'm sure will make. Last year 44 categories that had enough shooters to make this year. Don't forget we're the last leg of the Magnificent 7 again so please get your entries in early so I can get buckles ordered in time. So far we only have 2 Classic Cowboys, 2 Frontier Cartridge Duelists, 1 Frontiersman, 1 Josey Wales, 1 Outlaw, 1 Senior Gunfighter, 1 Silver Senior Duelist, 2 Silver Senior Gunfighter and 2 Wranglers. I can’t say about spikey but I’ve been loading with Clays powder since I started in 2005, 1st in .45 Colt and for the last 15 years in .38 special. When I first started .38 I was loading 2.6 grains behind a 125 grain bullet. I gradually bumped it up to 3.0 grains and have been using that ever since. I buy Clays anytime I see any because I really don’t want to have to find a different powder. I do not empty my powder measure because I only use Clays and only load .38 special. Randy

With comparable practice there is no appreciable difference between the two. I choose to shoot double duelist because I like the available transitions. Tennessee Williams is one of the top double duelists and Doc Roy L Pain is the best single duelist I’ve ever seen. It boils down to what works best for you. With the exception of Doc Roy L Pain I usually see more double duelists at the top of the Duelist Categories. Randy

I have 2 dry tumblers that still work fine but with a 17.9 lead level I thought maybe I should try something else. Randy

I got out all the water I could then spread them on an old towel on the garage floor with a fan blowing across them for several hours. I loaded 100 rounds today after checking inside each case to verify they were dry. They loaded easy and seemed like less resistance than loading dry tumbled brass. I think I’m sold on the wet tumbling. Randy

I did rinse quite a bit, the Bunkhouse Boss vetoed the plan to dry it in the oven.

I was pretty slow being convinced to try wet tumbling but since my last lead level was 17.9 I thought I’d give it a try. I decided on the Frankford Arsenal Platinum 7L. It has a 3 hour timer and Bass Pro Shop had them on sale for $149.98 and free shipping. I ran my first batch of .38 special and didn’t deprime, too much extra work to me. I just used water and the cleaning solution sample that came with the kit. From the results I think that’s what I’ll continue to use. I ran this batch for 2 hours and I’m extremely happy with the results. I guess I’m hooked now! Randy

We are working on getting Molly’s buckles for 1st in Categories this year. They have a pretty good lead time so I’m needing to know what categories we will have enough shooters in so I can get them ordered. I filed my sights to get POA and POI as close to the same as possible. I bought my guns as tools for out sport / game and I want them as good as possible for it. I don’t have time during a pistol (or rifle) string to think about Kentucky windage or elevation to get all shots on target. It is more critical as the targets get smaller and we sometimes shoot a Texas Star and occasionally for fun shoot something a little smaller. It comes down to the fact that they are your guns and it is up to you what you want to do with them but as others have said before you file make sue what ammo you are going to use and have a good shooter verify how they are shooting. I file mine at the range and file a little and then shoot to check then file more as needed. It takes a while but it keeps you from taking off too much. Randy

I agree 100% with PaleWolf you can’t determine intent without asking.

What are the right foods? I have had arthritis issues for years. Big toe joint cut out, hip replaced and now they want to replace both knees. Short stroke revolvers (Shotgun Boogie) and ‘73 (Reno Mustang) and a slick shotgun (Fast Eddie) help considerably but it would be nice to find something that would help the arthritis pain.
