  1. Well, good news. I was hired this morning as a Manufacturing Engineer by Anvil Manufacturing in Ozark, Alabama. It's only a 30 minute drive, salary is reasonable, and most of all they have good medical insurance. So Monday morning, no more wandering aimlessly around the property or perusing the internet for jobs. BACK TO WORK!

I heard his wife make the announcement today, was waiting for his show as I have done for many many years, he was always on my radio in the truck or the shop 3 hours a day every day when I could tune in. There will never be another Rush, great man great patriot. Talent on loan from God now returned to God. RIP Rush. SCJ

  10. I have lost count of the ccw holsters I have. IWB, OWB, Kydex, leather, combo kydex/leather, cross draw, shoulder, etc etc. I have 3 or 4 guns I carry so each has it’s own box o’ scabbards. My wife’s standard comment when I open the mail is, “You bought Another holster” Problem is, is not every gun and holster fits every situation. Weather, location, activity all play a roll in my selection. There cannot be only one.

  13. We got our second Covid shots yesterday. Having some minor side effects. Sore arm, chills for a while last night. No big deal. The CDC site says: * exercise your arm (done that for the last three days with this storm) * take Tylenol or put a cold cloth on the injection site * for mild fever, dress lightly DRESS LIGHTLY? IT WAS 9° WHEN I GOTUP!

  14. I have seen a lot of conversations pondering where the most attendance will come from for EoT this year. So I took the Who's Coming List released by SASS HQ yesterday (2/16/21) and did a little analysis. Check it out and let me know what you think. EoT Attendance Breakdown 2-17-21.pdf

  19. Messy? It's fine grained and tends to leak out of measures a bit. But it shoots very clean in cowboy cartridges and 12 gauge shotgun target loads. And about as accurate as a pistol powder can be. good luck, GJ

  20. The 10th Mountain Division trained at Camp Hale, CO in WW2 before deploying to Europe and battling through the Italian Alps defeating the Italian and German troops they faced. After the war veterans of the 10th returned to Colorado and started the sport skiing industry in the now famous resort towns of Vail and Aspen. A few years ago, vets of the 10th who had fought in Afghanistan started a distillery in Aspen. I decided to try it. UPS brought me a bottle yesterday. Okay then. For only a 1 year old compound this is surprisingly smooth. 75% Colorado sweet corn. Light Golden color I get

  26. I seriously doubt you did any actual research into the numbers/ percentage of folks retiring in the 90's/ 2000's. I have. https://www.today.com/money/retirement-age-us-rises-61-57-early-90s-1C9959555 When you attempt to dismiss the validity of an entire presentation by utilizing a single point - that shows the weakness of your own opinions. You state nothing to support an argument for or against - you simply want to play "gotcha" and latch on to a single point of what you "doubt" is accurate information. In other words, you would rather lazily dismiss my entire presentat

  28. +1 on the GOOD magazines. Ruger, Sig, S&W, SA, Remington, ATI and Taurus [!] have all got good reputations with shooters. If you pick up a Rock Island, swap the springs out for Wolffs and it will run great.

  32. Not to buck the crowd here, but I like my 20 gauge just fine. If you're at Walmart and want to get the cheap target loads, the 20 gauge is going to come standard with less shot and less recoil. You're going to have to shop around for the light recoil 12 gauge and I don't think you can get it as cheap as the $20/100 bulk target loads from Walmart. I've not played around with the low recoil stuff because I haven't had a need, I can get 3 rounds of trap or skeet with my double 20 gauge without too much discomfort, don't really enjoy 1 round with any of the 12 gauge. Guns/ammo combos I've tried

  35. Here’s some news most new CCW carriers should know. Budget for at least 3 holsters for different carry methods because you won’t be happy with the first but you’ll find the second worse but by the third you should have an idea what will work for you. Also, everyone raves about inside the waistband holsters. These mean a new wardrobe of pants.

  36. I'm in the Ft. Worth area. People all around us lose power for an hour at a time or 12 hours. Doesn't seem to be any particular schedule. Oddly enough, we haven't lost power at all yet. It's 1 degree now outside. I told my daughter that the satellites that turn of the power can't see me because I'm wearing my tinfoil hat :-) Horace
