This reminds me of a story I heard years ago and it goes like this. 

A government official enters a farmers land and tell the farmer that he is here to make an inspection.  The farmer objects but the official pushes his badge in the farmers face and tells him that this badge means that he can go on his land and inspect it any time he wants.  The farmer reluctantly agrees but tells the official that he cannot go in the north 40.  The official again pushes his badge in the farmers face and tells him that this badge gives him the authority to go anywhere on his land that he wants.  The farmer shrugs his shoulders and says nothing.  30 minutes later the official come running across the field being chased by an angry bull.  The official yells to the farmer for help and the farmer loudly replies “Show him your badge”!
