image.thumb.png.6fc3aa5588b99cc2dd776fd5e67c042d.pngOn this day in 1881 President Garfied passed away from his injury from a gunshot. On this day 142 years ago - September 19, 1881 - President James Abram Garfield, age 49, died at about 10:35 p.m. Garfield was shot by Charles Guiteau on July 2 and then endured nearly 80 days of great suffering.

I think he would have been one of our greatest president! His home is 15 minutes from here and I follow the Garfield home on Facebook. I’ve visited there a few times and even tuned a piano there. He was a well read very intelligent man who took his job seriously. :FlagAm:

I remember the pictures of the piano. Thought it was cool then and still do. :)

He'd probably be a hell of a lot better than any we've had since the 1980's.
