Fast Tracker
How long do you keep cartridges loaded with APP before firing them? I found about a dozen that were at least seven years old. They all fired, but every case split.
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971
My wife shoots these. All are shot within six months of loading. I store them in a sealed container with a large desiccant pack. APP sells its powder with desiccant packs with cause. Some cases loaded with APP split but no more so than the same cartridges loaded with smokeless powder.

Know a shooter that picked up some 10+ year old 10X in 45 colt loaded with a BP sub. 8 out of 10 split when fired. Pulled a couple bullets and the brass inside the cases had a red tint to it. Suspect something in the powder attacked the brass and made it brittle.
Yusta B.
Considering APP is citric acid based I'm not surprised.
