LostVaquero
Looking at one of these and no markings on caliber. Usually if 44-40 marked caliber Winchester or if 44 Russian marked Russian. Thus probably 44 MH. Being a long obsolete cartridge wondering if there might be a substitute?
Stopsign32v
This should get you started Accordind to Jacob Brandt's "Manual of Pistol and Revolver Cartridges" spec.s for the .44 M&H are: bullet diameter .410-.421" head diameter .437-.443" case neck diameter .437-.443" rim diameter .489-.503" case length 1.14-1.16" overall length 1.51-1.53" I'd start by getting a 44 Colt cartridge and experimenting with it to see if you can make some .44M&H brass from it.
