It has hundreds of actors, scores of covered wagons (before Hollywood made their own), real snow storms, oxen pulling the wagons, real Indian actors, a realistic Indian village, marvelous scenery, and pretty decent acting and costuming for its day. Also had the people "scissoring" wagons down a cliff, and a river crossing where I think dozens of cattle must have really drowned. They were washed downstream and I don't see how they could have been caught and saved. I just hope it is NEVER colorized.
