Jittery Jim Jonah, SASS #64913L Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 I am pretty sure I know the answer, not 100%. Shooter moves to first position after the beep. Draws first pistol out of holster and takes 4 short steps (feet leave the ground) before raising the revolver and engaging the targets. Is this an SDQ? Me thinks it is.... JJJ-D
Three Foot Johnson Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 If he's still within the "shooting position", didn't break the 170, didn't sweep anybody, and the revolver wasn't cocked during movement, he's OK.
Jittery Jim Jonah, SASS #64913L Posted April 6, 2019 Author Posted April 6, 2019 OK i just answered my own question. There is no round under the hammer therefore no violation.....
Jittery Jim Jonah, SASS #64913L Posted April 6, 2019 Author Posted April 6, 2019 The shooter was about 6' from the shooting position....
Three Foot Johnson Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 Shooting from the wrong position would be a P. Could be pretty subjective, unless the shooting area was defined by hard boundaries, such as a square or hoop or somesuch.
Assassin Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 The shooter can pull the pistol anytime and move wherever, until the pistol is cocked. Once cocked the pistol must be shot from that position.
Badlands Bob #61228 Posted April 7, 2019 Posted April 7, 2019 I draw my pistols all the time while on the run. No penalty. You just have to keep them pointed down range and don't cock them until you plant your feet where you're going to shoot them.
