Dorado
My father was diagnosed with diabetes and we're trying to find good recipes that he can eat. I don't have any experience with that. Y'all have any good ones you can share?
Pat Riot
Mostly just little or no carbs and heavy on veggies and protein. One of of my favorite things to eat for dinner when I was diagnosed was salad with Italian dressing, steak and wild rice. Complex carbs are good. Starchy carbs bad. The more your body has to work to process carbs the better. I am no longer considered “diabetic”.
Subdeacon Joe
Look here: https://www.cooksrecipes.com/category/diabetic.html and here: https://www.cookinglight.com/eating-smart/nutrition-101/diabetic-recipes Most of all, take a class or two on managing diabetes through diet. You can likely find some for free. Another good source is Weight Watchers.
Yul Lose
Check out the Dr. Gundrie diet. Some diabetics, that have been on the diet for some time, don’t need insulin anymore. My wife and I have both been on it for about 8 months and have both dropped a bunch of weight and we eat hardly any carbs or sugar. I’ve lost 32 lbs since January. Neither one of us are diabetic but the changes in the way we eat has also helped our arthritis and other maladies. No pork products, no wheat, oats, corn etc..
