WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP THE 2ND AMENDMENT?

This is showing us what we need to do.  We, as owners of a variety of firearms, need to have more publicity that we are not just a bunch of  wild-eyed, rabid believers in holding on to our cherished guns.

 

We need to counter the very visible liberal-left-leaning, illegal-alien hugging, get-their-face-in-front-of-the-camera people who are getting all of the air time.

Too many people still believe that what ever they see on the news on their boob tube is gospel.  This young lady, by her very age, academic status (graduated) and gender has given those of us that believe in the 2^nd Amendment and that it is good, right and LEGAL to own a firearm a great shot in the arm.  (no pun intended)    (from SASS Wire Saloon)

 

Furthermore:

We need to be more visible and active in order to preserve our freedoms during this midterm election cycle.  Each of us should make an effort to connect with whatever organization in your state is keeping their followers informed as to what is going in their state legislature, specifically in gun related legislation.  Here in Missouri, we have Dr. Curt Frazier of the Missouri Firearms Coalition who has been keeping Missourians informed of any gun related legislation that is being introduced or voted upon within our state government.

 

YOU need to be a part of the equation to keep your current pro-gun laws from being watered down or eliminated in your state.

 

You also need to have a voice on the national scene as well.  While the NRA has been a force on the national scene for many decades,  we have help on the national scene from other groups.  Gun Owners of America is one group that seems to be a no compromise kind of organization.  They are actively petitioning federal legislatures and by their petitions, encouraging them to hold firm on 2^nd amendment and gun ownership legislation. You can get their newsletter and be an involved citizen whether or not you “join” their organization.

 

We need every bit of positive air time that we can get as well as the continued pushing of our individual state government as well as on the nation scene.  

 

This mid-term election may very well determine if we get to keep our guns—and ammunition—by who we elect for US Senate and US representatives.  You can have a voice but it will take some participation on your part in order to help protect the freedoms that we still have.

Don’t forget the Second Amendment Foundation!  These folks actively and aggressively litigate and challenge any and all anti-gun legislation and also challenge bureaucratic edicts at EVERY level!!

 

Join NRA, GOA,  AND SAF if you haven’t already! You should also actively correspond with all of your local, state, and national representatives on a regular basis!!

 

These people DO count the number of responses and the alignment of those responses when it comes time to act or vote. They don’t always vote the way the majority of their constituents wish, but that’s why we have elections.
