1851 Navy issue

Buckshot Dobbs

Recommended Posts

for Christmas my dear wife bought me a Pietta 1851 in 44 cal and the Taylors conversion cylinder. Well i took it apart and cleaned it really well and took it to the range today and had a great time. Well as I shot it I noticed the screw holding the rammer on would back out. When I try to tighten it, it just free spins. It does not look stripped. I'm not sure why I did not notice this when cleaning? Do you think i can just put it in and blue lock tite it and itbe ok? Do i need to contact emf where my wife bought it? Can I get a better fitting screw somehow?

You have stripped threads. I would try to return it for an exchange, if you are sure you didn't cause the damage.
