Tom Bullweed
Or Fort Le Boeuf or Fort Duquense, where Washington was defeated and then defeated the French. He learned a lot by watching the French manuever against the regimental Brits that would account for his miltary ideas some 25 years later. Washington was our greatest president for many reasons. A short study of him in this war and his years between the F&I war and the Am Revolution are almost superhuman.

guitar_slinger
Great book by Alan Eckert. Well worth the read (as is The Frontiersmen). http://www.amazon.com/The-Wilderness-War-Narrative-Winning/dp/1931672148 (not advocating Amazon just a link to description of the book).
