Rye Miles #13621 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I saw the Homesman last night with Tommy Lee Jones and Hillary Swank. Pretty good movie. Set in early times before the Civil War (I think) they trudge across Nebraska Territory to Iowa with 3 crazy women. I think it's worth the time. --Rye
Bad Jeemes Kelly Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Yep, between the guns and the slaves, I took it to be set in the 1850's. I thought it was pretty good. I think some people expect every western to be a standard Louis L'Amour/John Wayne good guy vs. bad guy story, but I like things that are unusual, like The Homesman, Sweetwater, etc.
Birdgun Quail, SASS #63663 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Yes, not your predictable story line. The outcome was surprising and sad.
Apache Hawk 60642 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 A good tale...set as it pretty much was back then. Well worth the $ spent to rent it from Redbox.
