Friday the 13th Not "Unlucky"

Please excuse my brevity, as this is a post, not a book. :)

A lot of people in the Western world fear, on some level, that Friday the 13th is an "unlucky" day: triskadekaphobia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_the_13th

The Bible relates Jesus crucified on a Friday, and of thirteen being the number of people at the Last Supper.

Some people also feel that 13 is unlucky for the church, if it's meant to include Mary as the 13th Apostle... http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2013/09/the-origin-of-friday-the-13th-as-an-unlucky-day/

King Philip IV of France, in 1307 on Friday the 13th, ordered Jacues de Molay and several other Templars to be arrested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_Templar Some people feel that date for the arrests was no coincidence, as it has been rumored that the Templars had information about Mary Magdalene being the wife of Jesus and that it was covered up by the church as part of a marketing campaign for the church and masculine rule.

Yet it's unclear if there are actually any more accidents on Friday the 13th than other Fridays or other 13ths. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_the_13thfarther down the page AND it may well be, instead that—rather than Friday the 13th, or even just 13, being "unlucky," it may be more likely that it's the FEAR that is real. http://www.ibtimes.com/friday-13th-2015-trivia-facts-truth-about-bad-luck-holiday-1814636

But "13" isn't inherently "bad." The number 13 is the sixth prime number, and the smallest emirp (a prime that is a different prime when reversed). It is also a Fibonacci number, a happy number, the third centered square number, and one of only 3 known Wilson primes. It is associated in Catholicism with Saint Anthony of Padua. In Sikhism it is well regarded per the story of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, in a miracle that involved human charity, more money was discovered in the treasury than before. In judaism 13 is the age for a Bar Mitzvah, also the number of principles in the Jewish faith, per Maimonides. Taylor Swift was born on the 13th of December, her first album went gold in 13 weeks, and she likes to sit in the 13th seat in autidoriums, and she often wears the number 13 on her hand at concerts. There are 13 notes by inclusive counting in an octave. The UNITED STATES was created from 13 COLONIES. The GREAT SEAL OF THE UNITED STATES has 13 all over it: 13 stars; 13 stripes on the eagle shield; 13 olives, 13 leaves; 13 arrows; "E Pluribus Unum" has 13 letters; the unfinished pyramid has 13 levels...

To make it short: We can make anything out of anything, and LUCK is well up there.

I tend to think that LUCK IS A DERIVATIVE OF COINCIDENCE—that is a value on our fortues we ascribe to things that happen—and that we also heavily influence our own luck https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/reinvent-yourself/201412/we-make-our-own-luck

SO....................... THIS FRIDAY THE 13TH,

...please, like any other day, remain vigilant for safety, but I see no need to give superstition any more weight than any other perspective.

Enjoy a good Day!

Absolutely. "Luck favors the prepared mind." A coincidence may present an opportunity to us, but it's knowledge and preparedness that lets us take advantage of it.
